Strict guidelines for Halloween costumes are issued to striking performers.

Every Halloween, celebrities like to show off their elaborate costumes, which are often inspired by popular television shows and films.

However, the situation will be slightly different this year after actors were warned that dressing up as characters from major TV series and films would violate the rules of the ongoing strike in Hollywood.

For this reason, costumes based on Barbie, Wednesday Addams and movie superheroes are prohibited.

Wearing such costumes would promote content created by film studios with which the actors are in conflict, their union said.

“Choose costumes inspired by general characters (ghosts, zombies, spiders, etc.),” Sag-Aftra advises its members.

Or actors could dress up as characters from content  not subject to strike rules, "such as an animated television show," the union suggested.

“Let’s use our collective power to send a loud and clear signal to our struggling employers: We will not promote their content without a fair contract!”

The Sag Aftra advice comes as the actors' strike preventing union employees from working for major U.S. film studios nears the 100-day mark.

Most productions have been put on hold since their debut as both sides failed to agree on demands including a pay raise, a share of streaming revenue and protection for actors. Images and voices  replicated by artificial intelligence.

Final negotiations collapsed last week. The  studios said the negotiations were “no longer moving us in a positive direction.”

George Clooney  led a group of A-list stars who turned to the union this week to try to break the impasse.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, there was a Zoom call  on Tuesday between union leaders and Clooney, Reynolds, Scarlett Johansson, Kerry Washington, Tyler Perry, Bradley Cooper, Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon. , Emma Stone and Laura Dern.

“Generous concept” 039; Clooney and other celebrities have suggested that high-income workers should pay more  union dues, which he said would raise $50 million (£41 million) a year.

Apparently this is  intended to close the gap between what the union wants and what the studios are willing to offer.

Sag-Aftra's statement said it was "grateful that some of our most successful members have come forward to offer ideas and support."

It added: "This generous concept deserves consideration, but does not stand in any Any manner related to this agreement or even collectively negotiated will have no effect on it."

"It is actually prohibited by federal labor law.For example, our pension and health insurance policies are financed exclusively through employer contributions. It also doesn't reflect the scope of the overall package.

The strike will last “as long as necessary,” it  said.

“For 98 days we have stood strong and united in our pursuit of equity, justice and the value we create for the industry.
